Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy – Douglas Adams

Wow, nothing like it to cheer you up, especially after something as damn depressing as Phillip K. Dick.  Anyway, for anyone out there who just crawled out from under a rock and hasn’t already read this, Douglas Adams is hysterically funny.  He does British humor (humour?) in a science fiction format.  For example -

“Eddies in the space-time continuum!”  “Oh, and that’s his sofa, is it?”

Hubby says you can’t explain this book/series, it is something you have to experience, and that I should just say “42…nuff said.”

By the way, this cover is from the original paperback edition as published in the UK.  I thought that was kind of cool.

One Response to Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy – Douglas Adams

I love how the book gets better with every read. Even the smallest detail or the most insignificant background character from the beginning seems to come back and have some effect on the plot before the end. The Sandwich Maker will always be my favorite part, though.
